Facebook or LinkedIn?

Facebook is getting to be THE most popular networking website. No longer just among teenagers and college students but even amongst adults and professionals, Facebook is taking over LinkedIn a popular networking site used by professionals. So will LinkedIn become obsolete? or maybe acquired by Facebook?

  1. This is definitely becoming true, as the demographic is shifting from the teens and college students to the over 35’s (http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/07/06/facebook-users-up-89-over-last-year-demographic-shift/).

As for Linked-In, I think it’s still useful for recruiters and people looking for jobs, but not others (such as myself)- because everytime I get a ping from someone, it turns out to be one of those two sets of people- and I just don’t use it anymore except to add contacts I meet once in a while (I guess as a formality).
